The short version

Fingertips does not collect, transmit or store your personal data. Your snippets live on your devices and, if you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database. There is no Fingertips account, no server of ours holding your data, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.

Where your snippets live

Everything you save - text, links, images, files, titles, tags and how often you use each item - is stored on the device, in the app's own storage. It is shared with the Fingertips keyboard, share extension and widgets through an app group on that same device, so that they can show you your own snippets.

If you are signed in to iCloud, it is also synced to your other devices through your own private iCloud database, so the snippets you save on your Mac are there on your iPad. That database belongs to your Apple Account, not to us. We have no access to it, no way to read it, and no copy of anything in it. See the iCloud section below.

Text recognition in images, tag suggestions and generated titles all run on-device using Apple's built-in models. Nothing is uploaded to be processed.

The keyboard and Full Access

The Fingertips keyboard requires Full Access. An iOS keyboard extension cannot read the snippets the main app saved for it without that permission. Fingertips does not log, store or transmit anything you type. It has no network code in the keyboard at all.

Purchases

Fingertips is a paid app with a free trial. The purchase itself is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account.

To check whether a purchase belongs to you across your devices, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier, the transaction information Apple provides, and basic technical details such as the platform, country and app version. It never receives your snippets or anything you have typed. RevenueCat acts as our processor for this.

iCloud

Fingertips syncs your snippets between your devices using CloudKit, in the private database of your own Apple Account. Everything is covered: text, tags, and the image and file payloads too.

This is not our server. We never see the data, and we could not retrieve it if we wanted to. Apple encrypts it in transit and at rest, and it counts against your iCloud storage rather than any account with us. Apple's own privacy policy governs what happens to it there.

If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud Drive off for Fingertips in Settings, the app keeps working and everything simply stays on that one device.

Children

Fingertips is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly edited in.
